This is the first book of the ruthless series by Sadie Kincaid featuring Moretti siblings of Chicago. Dante Moretti is the ruthless mafia head of the Moretti family his character is of alpha male protagonist. According to Katerina Evanson ( the main female character of the plot), he is a cold, calculating and vicious mafia king who seems her to be a paradox. A cold-hearted person having a passion that rages like inferno.
Dante is a morally grey person. He gave a loan to Leo. Leo always used to get a loan from anywhere and in order to repay he hides behind his sister or elopes from the city.
Katerina Evanson was a nurse until a fierce night of horrible incident with her due to her brother. Kate was a dreamer but the incident made her a survivor and a fire girl.
To collect the debt from Leo, Dante took his sister Katerina Evanson as a captor. Dante has wiped out his former fiancee and her entire family on the eve of their wedding. Initially, his behavior is kind of rude with kate for weeks then gradually starts developing love for her somewhere in the corner of his heart. Dante seems to be strong, sensual, sadistic over all a mixture of everything required for being a brutal and fierce mafia king. But all of this is for the outer brutal world only. Beneath his outer face, there is a warm-hearted, caring, loving, and loyal man who can fight till his last birth even to hell for his wife. This kind of character is visible when Dante gave courage to kat to face the demons of her past.
At first the two main characters of the story seems to be completely opposite to each other but after their mutual attraction, both of them show their core of being a her survivor in their inferno.
Sadie Kincaid has set up a new genre in the world of writings. The novel is, as usual, a genre of his own setup. It picturizes mafia love story that is dark enthralling, violent and emotional simultaneously. There are unexpected twists and turns, including lots of traumas. The novel has fast-moving plot with forced proximity. Even the side characters of the story are very interesting.
