Anne Marie Frank was a German born one of the most discussed victims of the Nazi's holocaust. The diary of a young girl documents her life and atrocities endured by her family during the German occupation of the Netherlands in world war-II. The only survivor of the Frank family returned to Amsterdam after liberated and found Anne's dairy. It was translated from its Dutch version to english and published. The dairy Lights up the chronicles of Anne's Life from 12 June 1942 untill 1st August 1944.


The diary begins with Anne's 13th birthday. It encapsulates the essence of hope, resilience, and the human spirits. The book portrays human relations and goes on discussing each and every possible matter that a young girl can think. She lived most of her life in or near Amsterdam.

The Frank family went on hiding in a concealed Room behind a book case in the building of her Father's Workplace. she wrote about the difficulties of living in a small confined place with so many people along with the fear of being discovered. Later on she along with her sister was sent to concentration camp. The book explains the impact of war on ordinary people and the strength and resilience that they are capable of. The book serves as a memoir of atrocities of the holocaust in the view of a young optimistic girl, as she writes also about her hopes for the future with her desire to be a writer. Anne's engrossing commentary is a gripping self portrait to which any group can correlate.

Critics:

Some readers comment the book to be dull and boring as the majority of the diary entries are her minutiae with the people around hiding with her.

Awards:

Under the name of Anne frank award young writers under age 30 were encouraged in Netherland between 1951 to 1966.
